When the transfer project came to his school in Germany, Melchior became quite excited and decided to go to New York City. The people of his small town were glad that he was going to New York. He wasn’t liked much since he always got into fights and he always fought for what he believed in, not stopping until he got what he wanted. He was never spoiled nor was he was he ever treated badly at home. His parents just let him have his way with things, believing that he would only grow tougher from all the fighting. They hoped that one day, he would learn to fade into the background and live his life, not getting into so much trouble with everybody. They hoped that he would learn his lesson at some point. However, they were glad to send him away, since he really wanted to go and because he had always caused them a lot of worry and grief. Plus, he would be able to take care of his best friend, Moritz. He was even able to convince his childhood best friend, Wendla’s parents to allow her to go too. After all, Melchior always gets what he wants. Now that he’s in New York, Melchior’s finally starting to fit in. People are interested in what he has to say and they seem to be more understanding as well. He’s learning more and more from his studies in America and is considering staying in New York City for the rest of his life. People like him because he’s quite charismatic and sweet and ready to help out, with all the girls in his classroom crushing on him because he’s a rather good-looking boy. However, he seeks attention even more nowadays because he’s no longer the biggest troublemaker of the streets. There are others that cause more trouble than him and he’s no longer the star of the show. It makes him quite upset, because back in Germany, he was always in the spotlight. The thing is, he needs to get used to the fact that he’s not always in the spotlight - he really needs to let other people shine. Gabriel Adam ‘Gabe’ Goodman I Nineteen Years Old I Born on October 17, 1992 I Lives in Apartment 6A I Job: Waiter at The Pink Flamingo/Guardian Angel I FC: Matt Lanter I Open Gabe died eighteen years ago. Well, he was supposed to be dead. Truth be told, he’s not even supposed to be on earth anymore. You see, as a young baby, Gabe died from a mysterious and fast-paced case of tuberculosis. Nothing could be done for him and he died before even living for a year on earth. That’s why he was given a second chance to live his life again - as his younger sister, Natalie’s guardian angel. He shadowed her for sixteen years of his life, making sure that she and his family were always safe from dangers and harm. Though they could never see him, Gabe made sure to make himself a part of their life in anyway he could. He watched from above, shadowing his sister at school and making sure that nobody touched her and making sure that his father and mother were always doing alright. All he wanted in those first few years was for his family to be happy. Thing is, after seventeen years, Gabe was getting tired of it all. His facade, him trying to fit in with a family that couldn’t even see him. He wanted to be a part of the family he never got a chance to know, he wanted to be able to get a hug from his mother and a pat on the back from his father. He’s always had a big heart and good intentions for the most part, but Gabe was always jealous of Natalie. Natalie had always been able to experience everything that was out of Gabe’s reach. And so, Gabe had one more wish - to be able to be seen, to be able to be as humanlike as possible without being alive. After all, God can’t exactly make the dead come back to life. Nowadays, Gabe seems like an average guy. He’s rather sweet and rather charming, but he gets himself into trouble often, especially after a beer or two. He’s a ladies’ man, that’s for sure, always trying to woo girls. He’s overprotective of his younger sister and often pokes fun at her. He loves to play baseball and is witty and quite intelligent. He was even able to nab himself a job at The Pink Flamingo. Bradley ‘Boq’ Williams I Eighteen Years Old I Born on June 24, 1993 I Lives in Apartment 3C I Job: Student/Bartender at Lucky’s Pub I FC: Niall Horan I Open Bradley, often known as Boq, was always smaller than the rest and was always made fun of for being the runt at school. He could never reach the monkey bars or get his own books off the shelves - because of his height, he always had to ask for help. The other students in the class thought that his height was funny. He was pushed around, teased and always made fun of. At the end of the day, all that little Boq could do was hide from them. For many years of his short life, Boq lived in his own world in the corner, lonely and afraid of making himself known. He felt guilty about his height and he always wondered what he had done wrong to deserve the torture he received at school. He knew he had done nothing wrong. Boq was a good boy with good intentions, never one to misbehave. He was intelligent and brave when he wanted to be, wanting to go on adventures all over the world. It was a shame that his height brought him down. However, when Boq was fourteen years old, he met Fiyero, who was everything that Boq never was. Fiyero was confident and sure of himself, with girls falling at his feet. The two became fast friends and the years went by, Boq grew slowly but surely, slowly reaching normal height. He learned how to act like Fiyero, becoming confident in himself and becoming quite the charmer. Nowadays, Boq and Fiyero even live in the same apartment together. However, can Boq ever come out of Fiyero’s shadow and win a girl of his own? Christopher Jacob Scott I Twenty-two Years Old I Born on November 26, 1989 I Lives in Apartment 8C I Job: New York Times Intern I FC: Ryan Gosling I Open Chris has always been a good man; the kind with the smarts, charm and looks that make girls fall at his feet. He grew up in a small, upstate New York suburban town on the outskirts of Albany - the typical All-American boy. He played baseball, football and basketball with his father, got decent grades at school and was mischievous and a little troublesome at times. Girls chased after him and boys either were jealous of him or wanting to be his best buddy. His parents and the rest of town loved him - after all, he was quite the charming man, if a little bit wordy at times. While he never got the best grades at school, Chris was always quite intelligent, though he didn’t always use his smarts for his own good. While in his town expected him to join the military or perhaps the navy, Chris surprised them at the end of the day. He decided to apply for New York University and he got in, majoring in journalism. Having always had a knack with words, Chris graduated with flying colors and ended up getting an internship with New York Times. So far, he’s most likely going to become a regular reporter, though he’s also considering CNN and other news channels. He just wants to work with words for the rest of his life, exploring the world and seeing everything the world has to offer. The thing is, Chris has also always had the dream of settling down with the woman of his dreams. Having children, living a big house, spending the rest of his life in love. And the thing is, there’s this girl that intrigues him who lives next door and works at the bar he frequents… He just needs to get to know her. Jackson Avery Brown I Nineteen Years Old I Born on May 16, 1992 I Lives in Apartment 9B I Job: Errands Boy I FC: Logan Lerman I Open Jack has never been the most intelligent boy, to be honest. In fact, he’s a little on the clueless side, and some people simply think that he’s actually quite dumb. He never did well in school, he never made many friends and people always thought that he was a little bit looney. He’s neither dumb nor crazy, that’s for sure, but he is a little bit oblivious and he doesn’t have the skills to necessarily ‘make it’ in the real world. He doesn’t speak well, he doesn’t think realistically and he takes things a little too seriously for his own good. Sure, he has a very large imagination, but that’s not helping him much at the moment. After all, he still lives with his mother at the age of nineteen and insists on keeping his cow, Milky White, in their tiny apartment. Plus, having a job as a banker’s errands boy is not much better than working as a secretary. Actually, it’s worse. His salary is even less than that of a secretary’s. However, Jack is a very sweet and kind boy, almost childish in the way he acts. He’s always there to listen to people talk and he’s always there to give advice, even though for the most part, his advice is not wanted. He listens to directions and while he takes things a little too seriously, he does what he is told without a fuss. Also, Jack loves his mother and Milky White very much, and in all honesty, he would do anything for his friends. When Jack is given a task; he can become very brave, even though in everyday life he actually seems quite sheltered and scared. Will Jack’s imagination ever help him out at the end of the day? Maybe, if Jack could just write his thoughts on a piece of paper, he could become something more than just an errand’s boy… Marius Pontmercy I Twenty-one Years Old I Born on July 17, 1990 I Lives in Apartment 5D I Businessman I FC: Tom Felton (Negotiable) I Open Marius just wanted to be free from his parents, free from everything back in France. He lived with his grandfather for much his life, with his mother dead and his father not caring. At least, Marius believed that his father didn’t care. It hurt less than the truth he found as a man. As a man, Marius found out that he would be disinherited if his father had any contact with him. Thing is, Marius doesn’t know what to think anymore, since the man is dead and he hardly knew him. Marius just believed that his father never wanted to see him and never bothered to write him. All he wants to do is run away - run away from his cheat of a grandfather and run away from a history of lies. That’s why he took the love of his life, Cosette, and ran off to New York City. He knows that he can make a fresh start in America, where people don’t know who he is. Sure, he had to start from scratch, but he received some of his father’s inheritance money and he is an intelligent man. He did go to university after all in France, earning himself a degree in business. Within a couple of weeks, Marius found himself a job at the local bank. It’s not much, but it pays for the apartment and for all the bills. One day, Marius hopes that he’ll save enough to buy Cosette a real engagement ring.
